Olivine uses AI-powered vision to automatically extract data from receipt photos.
The Submission Process
1. Take a Photo: Crew member photographs the receipt
2. Send via SMS: Text the photo to your Olivine number
3. AI Extraction: Our AI reads the vendor, date, amount, and items
4. Categorization: The expense is matched to a budget line
5. Confirmation: Crew receives a confirmation with the extracted data
What Happens When a Receipt is Texted
Crew texts: [Photo of Home Depot receipt for $45.99]
Olivine responds:
✓ Got it! Processing your receipt...
Then:
✓ $45.99 at Home Depot → 4501 (Set Dressing)
Submitted 2/2/2026 • Reply EDIT to change
Tips for Best Results
- Good lighting: Natural or bright indoor light works best
- Flat surface: Lay the receipt flat, don't hold it up
- Entire receipt: Make sure the total and vendor are visible
- One receipt per photo: Don't combine multiple receipts
When Extraction Fails
If we can't read a receipt clearly, you'll get a message like:
I couldn't read that clearly. Could you send another photo
with the receipt flat and well-lit?
After 2-3 attempts, the receipt will be flagged for manual review in the dashboard.
